Tri State Speedway
May 27, 2007
Haubstadt, IN
Both Kyle and Mitch traveled to Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN for the MSCS race on Sunday. A full field of 44 cars was on hand for the $3,000 to win race. Mitch finished 3rd in the first heat race and Kyle finished 3rd in the second. This would put both cars in the 5th row for the 30 lap feature. Kyle was collected in a crash on the 2nd lap and Mitch worked his way through the tough field to finish 5th. After a week of searching for problems on Mitch's car, this was a major accomplishment.
Storms cancel night in Indianapolis!
May 25, 2007
Mitch was set to make his debut in the OFR Trucking Silver Crown car at the Indianapolis fairgrounds on Friday May 25th, but weather would shorten the night. Immediately following the second practice session a storm moved in forcing the race to be canceled. The time on the track proved very beneficial and will be helpful when they head to the Illinois State fairgrounds in August. View image of Mitch.
The 2007 Season is under way!
May 6, 2007
Haubstadt, IN
This weekend was a relatively successful venture to Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana for the first Midwest Sprint Car Series race. Forty-four cars were present for the opening night. Kyle started on the front row of heat one and would go on to win despite fighting an extremely tight car. Mitch started 8th in the second heat and worked his way up to third with a last lap pass that moved him from fifth to third! These finishes would line Kyle up in the second row and Mitch eighth for the A-feature. As the feature got under way, Kyle would hold on to third as Mitch made his way through the pack. A caution on lap thirteen lined Mitch up in fourth right behind Kyle in third. During the caution something broke in the ignition of Mitch's car ending his run to the front. While under the caution, Kyle made the decision to make changes on the car, run the bottom and make a run at the lead. This proved to be a poor choice as he fell to sixth at the finish. In the end, both drivers learned a little and will come back this weekend for the first Bell Shootout race at Danville, Illinois on Friday. On Saturday Kyle will be heading back to Haubstadt for the USAC/Powri midget race. View image.

2007 Update!
March 1, 2007
With the 2007 season fast approaching, the finalization of plans has become a priority at Wissmiller Racing. The final touches were put on a deal to fill the gaps in Kyle's schedule as Mitch's agenda is looking much like last year.
Mitch will continue to drive the 7x owned by Jim Mahan at USAC dirt sprint car, MSCS and Sprint Bandit events. Jim will be using chassis built by Gamester Racing, Penske shocks and Hoosier tires. In contrast to last season, the two plan on attending a larger number of events this season. In addition, Mitch will be driving the Onken, Inc owned Silver Crown car at all of the USAC dirt Silver Crown events. The team will start the season out at the Indianapolis Fairgrounds in May. Due to the engine failure sustained last season, a second motor has been added to ensure a successful season. Mitch's season will start on March 31 at Eldora Speedway for the first USAC national sprint car race of the season.
Kyle's schedule filled fast with the addition of car owner's Bob Price and Rick King coming on board. Kyle will be running Bob Price's F5 midget in select Powri and USAC dirt midget races. In addition to this, Bob will be heading east from his Phoenix, AZ residence in June bringing 2 new F5 sprint cars to run in the Midwest. Bob will be running USAC's Indiana Sprint Week, the Ultimate Challenge, Sprint Bandits Tour and select USAC races throughout the summer.
With the start of the season nearing, Kyle's search for a USAC Silver Crown ride were diminishing until meeting Rick King in Phoenix. Rick recently purchased a dirt Silver Crown car that Kyle will be driving at the 2007 dirt events. As of now the May race in Indianapolis is in question as new engines are being built. In the meantime, Wissmiller Racing has continued to assemble 2 new F5 sprint cars to field at USAC dirt and MSCS races.
With the recent finalization of these plans a schedule for the 2007 season will be available at www.wissmillerracing.com soon. Feel free to contact Wissmiller Racing for tickets to an event in your area.

Official Chili Bowl Results
January 14, 2007
Kyle's first Chili Bowl lacked results as a stuck throttle forced him to pull off leading his heat race on Wednesday night. Earlier, Kyle turned the fastest lap in his hot lap session which was 5th quickest out of the entire 70 car field. With the throttle fixed, Kyle was relegated to starting in the rear of a last chance race where he could only work up to 5th. The rest of the week was spent going over the car to make sure Saturday would be a more productive day.
Saturday's line-up put Kyle 5th in the second H-main where he would work his way up to 3rd by the end of the 10 lap race. This transferred him to the G-main where he would start in the 11th position. With adjustments made in between races, Kyle was able to move up to 8th in the first 3 laps. A spinning car collected him while passing a group of cars in turns 3 and 4. There was enough damage that the car was unable to continue.
Although the results did not show the progress throughout the week, the car worked well and remained fast.
Manzanita Feb 9 & 10
After an eventful week at the Chili Bowl, Kyle was able to secure a ride for the upcoming USAC race at Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, AZ. Car owner Bob Price will field the F-5 midget ran at the Chili Bowl as well as a new Ultramax sprint car for Kyle in this event. Bob's experience at the famed half-mile track along with top-notch equipment make this opportunity invaluable. Kyle looks forward to making the most of this experience, which should produce winning results.

Official: Kyle in the 2007 Chili Bowl
December 22, 2006
On December 18th, Kyle finalized a deal with Phoenix, AZ car owner Bob Price to drive his Ford powered F5 chassis at this year's Chili Bowl midget race January 9-13. Although this will be Kyle's first appearance at this event, he is very excited to have the opportunity to be in quality equipment. This car was driven by JJ Yeley in the 2002 Chili Bowl where he came from the F-main to finish 10th in the A-main. Bob's experience as a car owner will help make the learning curve smoother. More information on the event can be found at www.chilibowl.com and updates and photos will be posted on here when available. More Archive.. |
